This Week in Nail Polish

Greetings! I hope everyone is doing ok! Let's see what I added to my collection this week...

Close-up of Sticks 'n Stones

Left to right: Sinful Colors Neon Melon, Summer Peach
Nabi Magnetic Polish Forest Green (doesn't have a name so I gave it one)
Cover Band Lacquers Sticks 'n Stones

Not some bad loot, if I say so myself. I picked up the two Sinful Colors from Walgreens. They were on sale for 99 cents. I also found the Nabi polish there too. That was really surprising cause the Walgreens in this town is crap!

And I ordered Sticks 'n Stones from Ninja Polish. It's so pretty! I'm looking forward to layering this over different colors.

Onto the cats!

That first picture is an older one of Lillith. She was a pound heavier then and had her winter coat. So she looks a lot chunkier. Ain't she a doll?!

And then there's Penelope doing what she's known for doing...getting in the way of homework >_<
No, really. Like most cats, she loves laying on open books when I'm reading.

Here's an older manicure:

This is Sally Hansen Turquoise Opal. Basically, my number one favorite polish ever. It is a STUNNING multi-chrome. It shifts from different shades of purple, blue, green and teal. It's insane. And in person it's about a million times better too. I know I layered this over black when I wore it. Paid a ridiculous amount on Ebay for it too. To date, this is the most I've ever payed for one bottle of polish. 22 bucks plus 7 for shipping from Canada. Crazy but totally worth it.

Nail news:
I had to cut my nails down last night. My new job is tough on my hands and nails and they were just getting in the way and I don't want to worry about breaking them. They were already starting to chip in some places. It's been hell on my manicures too. Honestly, it sucks...but eh...what're you gonna do...it's nubbins for me :(

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Sinful Colors Zeus

Hi everyone! Today we've got a color that matches the background of my blog layout...purple! Purple is easily one of my favorite colors ever. Not better than green or blue. But it's number three in my heart :)

Here is Zeus:

Base coat: 1 coat of CND Stickey
Polish: 3 coats of Zeus
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Zeus is a medium purple jelly-type polish with a bright pink shimmer running through it. That's the best I can describe it! The shimmer is more apparent in person, you can see it best in the first 2 photos of it. The last two were taken when the sun had gone down some so they doesn't show the true potential of this polish.

I had some difficulty with the formula, it was a bit gloppy and awkward to work with. And for some reason, this polish fell short for me. It's pretty, don't get me wrong...but something about it left me wanting more. Ah well!

And just for fun, here's another picture I took where Lillith showed up in the background:

Heh. She's often outside when I take pictures of my nails actually. Which gives me a great opportunity to take pictures of her...which she doesn't care for either.

Anyway! Back to the polish, you can find it at Walgreen's if you're interested in it. I recently read another post about this polish by the Ice Queen and she didn't have the problems I did. So maybe it was a bad polish day for me, who knows.

Sinful Colors Neptune

Good afternoon, polish addicts! Today I have a pretty blue polish called Neptune. Onto to the photos!

Base coat: 1 coat of CND Stickey
Polish: 2 coats of Neptune
Top Coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

I would describe Neptune as a royal blue jelly with silver micro-glitter that flashes light green in some lights. Very pretty and I don't have anything like it in my stash. When I saw swatches of it, I knew I HAD to have it!

The formula was pleasant to work with, starts off sheer but very build-able. 3 coats might be best to deliver maximum oomph but I wanted to be done with my nails :P

Later on I added some stamping to cover a minor chip (my fault, btw).

I rarely break out the Konad set so I decided it was time to give it some love. Here I used the Konad special white polish, plate M57. I added some random silver dots in China Glaze Cheers to Me. Not my best work but I was in a hurry.

Neptune comes from one of the more recent Sinful Colors collections called Cast Away. It is limited edition so if you're interested in this polish, I'd make it to a Walgreen's quickly. If not, there is always Evil-bay ;)

Anyway, I know it's Easter weekend. I hope that those of you that celebrate it (I personally don't) have a nice time! And eat a few chocolate bunnies for me :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Sinful Colors Olympia

Hi everyone! Today I have a Sinful Colors polish from one of their most recent collections, Cast Away. I actually looked for this collection quite a bit (so much that my husband got tired of taking me to Walgreens) and I was so happy when I finally found it! When I saw swatches of it online, I knew right away that it had to be mine.

Base coat: 1 coat of CND Stickey
Polish: 2 coats of Olympia
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Olympia is a pistachio green creme. The formula was a pleasant surprise to work with. Pastel-type cremes are notorious for being streaky and difficult to apply evenly. I was mostly interested in this polish because it's supposed to be a pretty good dupe for Essie Navigate her. Pistachio greens like this seem to be a bit popular for the spring.

Olympia is part of a limited edition collection. So you can check out your local Walgreens to see if it's in stock. If not there, there's always Ebay! I paid $1.99 for this polish and I think it was money well spent :)
