Revlon Royal

Hi everyone! I was debating on whether to make this post or not, only because the photos I managed to take at the time weren't the best. But we're pushing forward anyway!

See how ghostly my skin looks here? Totally not representative of real life!

Base coat: 1 coat of China Glaze Strong Adhesion
Polish: 2 coats of Royal
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Royal is a squishy royal blue jelly. I have to say, I really loved this one. I got so many compliments on it too (usually my nails go unnoticed so even one compliment is worth mentioning). One lady even asked if it was Shellac. This polish is crazy shiny in person. And it's very pigmented too. I was expecting a sheer mess but two coats were enough for opaqueness.

The formula was lovely to worth with too! This polish is definitely a win in my book.

You can find this anywhere Revlon is sold and I purchased mine on the Walgreens website.

Thanks for stopping by!

A England Lady of the Lake

Hey guys, I've got a nice purple holo for you today.

Here it is out in the sunlight

Base coat: 1 coat of China Glaze Strong Adhesion
Polish: 2 coats of Lady of the Lake
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Lady of the Lake is a royal purple scattered holographic polish. It's totally gorgeous and very pigmented. The formula was a breeze to work with!

In a fit of agitation, I chopped my nails ultra short right before this manicure. I was having issues with my manicures peeling off and my brilliant mind thought if I cut off the little bit of free edge I had left, that would fix the problem. So that's why they look really short here! Thankfully they've grown a bit more since then...

I purchased this polish from the A England website a few months ago. It's the only polish I have from this brand but I desperately want more! The bottles are so classy and it's truly quality polish.

Thanks for stopping by!

This Week in Nail Polish

Hey everyone! Since I was unable to post last week, you're getting a special double edition this time ;)

I've racked up a decent amount of polish in the past two weeks. Let's see what has been added to my stash...

Look at that pretty purple duo-chrome!
Left to right: Alyson, Vanessa and Optical Illusion
I actually ordered one of those Julep mystery boxes. Needless to say, I was really disappointed. I got 4 polishes (2 that I already have, so they aren't pictured) and a sample of hand scrub, which is something I have the full size of and rarely use. I had been seeing blog posts about girls getting these mystery boxes with $120 worth of Julep gift certificates. I was hoping for that but meh...lesson learned.
Optical Illusion comes from a head2toe order.

Green holo goodness!
Left to right: Reclaim, Wildlife and Cop an Attitude
I bought the Nubars from two different sellers on Ebay. The Color Club magnetic comes from the same head2toe order as the China Glaze from above.

Left to right:
Daisy Does It, Sparkle and Soar and Electro-midnight
Once again, these were from the same head2toe order!

Glitter close-up!

Left to right: Sand Art, Hearts and Daggers and Orchid
I bought the two Pretty and Polished polishes from her Etsy shop last week. I got Orchid from a swap.

Left to right: Belle, Kate and Coraline
This is the blogger collection from Zoya that is being sold on Birchbox. It's limited edition and they are JELLIES made by ZOYA. I had to get them.

And I'm so glad I did. The swatches of these are amazing! I can't wait to wear them...especially Kate :)

 How about an older manicure?

Kitty kisses!
This is China Glaze Fashionista with Kleancolor Chunky Holo Black layered over it. In the second picture, Lillith was doing what she does best and that's getting in the mix of things. She wanted a piece of the action...or attention. Whatever, she's licking my finger in the picture and I thought it was cute. That and I like how her eyes match the color of my nails :)

To end this post, here's a picture of Penelope in the dryer. She loves going in there even though she knows she shouldn't!

Well, that's it. Thanks for sticking by me and stopping by!

Zoya Farah

Alternate title for this post: nudes gone wrong!

I really didn't like this one on me. It's one of those nudes that made my skin look "dirty". I don't know, I just didn't find it flattering.

Base coat: 1 coat of Trind base coat
Polish: 2 coats of Farah (I think)
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

The Zoya website describes this shade as, "an opaque light khaki-beige with subtle sandy, greenish undertones". It reminded me of chocolate milk or a latte.

I think I'm overly critical of shades like this. I don't like wearing colors that are anywhere near my skin color, I think it looks weird!

The formula was decent enough to work with. Can't remember any glaring issues I had with it.

I actually tried my first half-moon manicure with this polish as the base. I applied Essie Incognito over it. It looked really nice but sadly, I didn't get any pictures of it. After one shift, it was ruined and started peeling off.

I won this polish from a contest months ago. You can buy it on the Zoya website if you're interested.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nubar Indigo Illusion

Hi everyone! I'm back in business. We finally reformatted my PC. It feels nice. Kind of like starting over.

Let's get to the polish, shall we?

Today I've got a stunning multi-chrome to share with you.

You can really see the green here!
And here the frosty purple is shining more.

Base coat: 1 coat of Trind base coat
Polish: 3 coats of Indigo Illusion
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Indigo Illusion is a multi-chrome that shifts from a frosty purple, to a more grey-ed out purple, green and frosty grey with some gold in there somewhere. It's a really cool color!

It starts off a little sheer but you could get away with 2 coats if you wanted. I did 3 for maximum oomph!

The formula was nice enough to work with, I didn't encounter any problems.

Talk on Twitter is what inspired me to purchase this. Multi-chromes are my favorite finish and this one is highly praised by Scrangie, and we all know that her word is gospel in the nail polish world ;)
So I knew I had to get it and bought it on Ebay, it wasn't too expensive.

Thanks for stopping by!

Technical Difficulties

Hi everyone! No, I haven't forgotten about you. Or my blog. Or nail polish...

But my desktop has decided to stop working and that's where I have and edit all of my photos. My husband should be working on it soon, when he gets a chance. And I've been super busy with work.

I'm really new to managing my time. I'm terrible at it! It often seems like there isn't enough hours in the day.

I hope everyone's doing well. I should be back to posting soon.

In the meantime...take care <3

Zoya Kristen and Revlon Whimsical

Hey everyone! Today I've got a dreamy, glittery combination to show you...

Close-up of the bottle

Base coat: 1 coat of Trind base coat
Polish: 2 coats of Kristen, 2 coats Whimsical
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Whimsical is a milky baby blue filled with pink, blue and iridescent glitter. There's also some shimmer in there too. Kristen is a grey-ed out baby blue. It seemed like the perfect match to me!

Unfortunately, Whimsical was a stubborn polish. I didn't get much glitter but plenty of base. I think this is why I got some bubbling (which is probably evident in the photos). That was annoying, honestly and I doubt I'll ever play with this polish again. Kristen is pleasant to work with, it wasn't my first rodeo with this baby.

I got Whimsical from a swap a little while back and Kristen is one of the polishes I got from a Zoya promo months ago. You guys remember the ones where they'd post promo codes on Twitter in limited amounts? Some of them were for a free polish plus free shipping. I was lucky enough to get Kristen this way.

Thanks for stopping by!

This Week in Nail Polish

Hi everyone! I hope you've all had a good week and are prepared for the start of a new one. Let's see what I've added to my stash recently...

Left to right: Nessa, Ashley, Sarah, Kylie, and magnet

My Maven box came in the mail early in the week. Apparently, they are jumping on the magnetic bandwagon as well. Kylie (the purple one) is the magnetic polish. Sarah was an additional polish I added on, the box only came with Nessa, Ashley, Kylie and the magnet. It also came with a sample of their pedicure cream. I actually have a few magnetic polishes now but have yet to use one as a full manicure yet. Need to get on that ASAP!

Close-up of the glitter and shimmer

Left to right: Bronze, Wine, A Million Sparkles and Bad Kitty
Once again, the stupid Nabi polishes don't have names so those are the ones I gave them. As you can see, the Bronze is missing the magnet it's supposed to come with. Apparently, I didn't notice this when I was buying them...I need to exchange that one soon.

I got the two Nabis at Walgreen's and found A Million Sparkles at CVS. I ordered Bad Kitty from here. It's limited edition and currently sold out but she'll probably post more at some point.

All in all, I'm happy with what I've added to my collection. Lots of pretty polishes!

Here's an older mani:

This is China Glaze Gamer Glam. I added some pink heart rhinestones as an accent finger. Pretty, huh?

I have some older pictures of the cats now. Starting from the first day I got Lillith as a kitten!

It's a cell phone pic, so the quality isn't the best. But I will treasure this picture forever...

Lillith is 5 years old now. She was only a few weeks old when I got her. I'm so glad to have her in my life. Looking at baby pictures of her makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside <3

Sadly, I don't have any kitten pictures of Penelope because she was almost a year old when I adopted her from the SPCA. I do have a picture of her from when I barely got her, 6 years ago...

Her belly is shaved here cause she had just been fixed. She's a lot smaller here too. This was apparently before she turned into the fat blob that she is now.

I still remember what it was like meeting her at the shelter. I took her into that room where you get a chance to interact with the animal. She was SO sweet. Like, I couldn't believe it. It was instant love. I knew she was the one I had to take home with me. I can't express in words how much both of my babies mean to me. I feel so lucky to have them as companions and cherish every day I get with them.

Anyway, I suppose that's enough rambling for today. Thanks for stopping by!

China Glaze Westside Warrior

Happy Friday everyone! Today I have a lovely green polish for you...let's check it out:

Base coat: 1 coat of Trind base coat
Polish: 2 coats of Westside Warrior
Top coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Westside Warrior is a warm, olive green creme. And a beautiful one at that. This polish is a dream in a bottle. I can't state my love for green shades like this enough. I could wear them forever and never tire of them. So gorgeous!

The formula was exactly what I've come to expect from China glaze...perfection. 2 creamy coats and this polish was completely opaque.

China Glaze holds a special place in my heart. This is the brand that started my polish addiction. I am a total China Glaze fangirl! Out of my 420-ish strong collection, 84 of them are China Glaze...that should show how much I love this brand ;)

This polish is from the 2011 fall collection. I bought it a while back and it's been waiting in my untrieds for me to wear it for months now...that should be a crime!

I bought this from head2toebeauty, which you can check out here. I highly recommend this site, I've ordered from them dozens of times without any problems.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely weekend :D
