Pretty and Polished Valentino (Picture Heavy)

Hi everyone! Pretty and Polished is a relatively new indie brand that is making a huge splash in the polish world right now. And rightfully so! Chelsea's creations are unique and fascinating. Today we're taking a look at Valentino...

I layered this polish over Peripera Modern Green GR309, which is a mint green creme. Here is a swatch of it on a nail wheel, below 3 coats is shown:

Onto the manicure!

Base coat: 1 coat of Julep Nail Therapy
Polish: 2 coats of Peripera Modern Green, 2 coats of Valentino
Top Coat: 1 coat of Seche Vite

Lillith (see gray, tailless cat) was outside when I was taking pictures. I love that she sneaked up into the background of this one!

As you can see, Valentino is a mixture of multi-sized black and white glitter. The base is not totally clear, it's somewhat tinted. It added a dark cast to the polish I was wearing underneath. Indoors it looks a bit muddied, which I'm not exactly a fan of...but it still looks interesting and nice.

I'm terrible at working with large glitters and "placing" them where I want on the nail. I wish I had gotten more of the large white hexagonal glitter on the brush, but it just wasn't working! I set the bottle upside down for a good while before I even started my manicure and shook it for a bit and the white glitter was still hiding from me. It's hard for me to tell if this is a result of the polish or user error. Next time I use it, I guess I'll just have to try harder to get the glitter that I want and get it on my nail where I want it.

I'm glad that this polish wasn't "top coat hungry", which some large glitters tend to be. One thick coat of Seche Vite was enough to leave me with a glossy, smooth manicure.

Here's a close-up of it on my thumb:

I do love this polish because it's the first black and white glitter combo that I have. I can't wait to layer this over different colors!

Since Lillith was outside, I decided to try and get a decent picture of her. She's a very grumpy looking cat but I think this one turned out nice.

She is so ridiculously beautiful to me :)

You can check out Pretty and Polished's Etsy shop here. She works hard to keep her Etsy shop stocked and delivers her packages out fairly quickly. I really love her creations and hope to have more soon!

And that's it for this post. Thanks for stopping by!
